What It Does
Message signing creates a cryptographic signature from a Handshake name in your wallet. Another person can verify that signature to confirm the message came from someone controlling that name.
Docs
Sign or verify a statement using ownership of a Handshake name. This proves identity without moving funds.
Message signing creates a cryptographic signature from a Handshake name in your wallet. Another person can verify that signature to confirm the message came from someone controlling that name.
Signing a message does not send an on-chain transaction, does not move HNS, and does not cost network fees.
Only sign messages you understand. If a website, buyer, seller, or support agent asks you to sign confusing text, stop and ask what the signature will be used for.
