Transfer Handshake Names

Handshake name transfers move ownership on-chain. Use a wallet address that supports names, wait for the protocol transfer period, and verify the result before moving higher-value domains.

Moving Names from Namebase to Bob

Open Bob, let the wallet sync, then copy a Bob receiving address for the wallet you control. In Namebase, use the name transfer or withdrawal flow for each Handshake name and paste the Bob address as the destination. After the transaction confirms and the transfer can be finalized, verify the name appears in Bob before changing DNS or moving more names.

Transferring from Bob to Another Wallet

Ask the recipient for a Handshake address from a wallet that supports name ownership. In Bob, choose the name, start the transfer to that address, wait through the required transfer period, then complete the finalize step when Bob shows the transfer is ready.

What to Check First

  • Make sure you have backed up the seed phrase for the wallet that will receive the name.
  • Confirm the destination wallet supports Handshake names, not only HNS coin deposits.
  • Keep enough HNS available for normal network fees.
  • Start with a low-value name if this is your first transfer.
